Impact In Angola

About Angola:
Located on the west coast of Southern Africa.
Estimates as high as 46% of children suffering from a form
of malnutrition.
69.8% of the population live
on under $3.20 per day.
In 2015, World Vision began implementing an emergency drought response in South West Angola to lessen the impact of the deepening food security crisis in the area.
ActiveForGood partnered with World Vision in 2019 by providing packets of RUTF for children in need.
According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Southern Africa is facing one of the worst droughts in 35 years. The effects of this severe drought have extended beyond food insecurity and are causing increased levels of malnutrition in many countries, including Angola.
An estimated 600,000 children have been affected, and 180,000 are children under the age of five.
Thanks to the amazing efforts of challenge participants, we can donate lifesaving packets of ready-to-use therapeutic food, and World Vision is able to strengthen the collective efforts of saving the lives of the most vulnerable children.
