First, we would like to give a huge thank you to everyone who participated in past challenges and played a critical role in helping us end Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) for many children in South Sudan and Northern Uganda. Reaching over 1 billion calories donated is an incredible milestone, and we’re just getting started.

And if 1 billion calories were given, that also means 1 billion or more were burned by you our friends. That is a lot of walking, running, cycling, Olympic curling and whatever else you all did to get #ActiveForGood.

We would also like to thank the companies who participated and sponsored challenges. You’ve added your efforts to a growing global charge to eliminate SAM.

Currently, all of the life-saving packets unlocked by past challenges are sent to South Sudan and Northern Uganda in partnership with our friends at Save the Children. They run some incredible nutrition programs for children and families who need our help.

Total Challenge Impact To Date:

In a post about World Food Day, the WDP points out that “A dollar invested in hunger prevention could return between $15 and $139 in benefits.” The work being done to end SAM not only affects the immediate health of a malnourished child but it also serves as an investment in the future workforce of a region.
